Vince Vaughn was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota but was raised in Buffalo Grove and later Lake Forest, Illinois. Vaughn knew he wanted to be an actor from a young age and move to Hollywood after he graduated in 1988. Vaughn was quickly cast in numerous television roles and small roles in the 1992 School Ties and the 1993 Rudy. However, it was his role in the 1996 independent film, Swingers that would serve as Vaughn's big breakthrough role.

Shortly after Swingers fame, Vaughn was cast in the blockbuster The Lost World: Jurassic Park as the male lead. Vaughn then had a series of serious roles as Norman Bates in the remake of Psycho in 1998, one of the three friends in Return in Paradise, and co-starring alongside Jennifer Lopez in the The Cell in 2000. Vaughn's next breakthrough into super stardom would be as one of the stars in the 2003 Old School.

After his role in Old School, Vaughn joined the prestigious Frat Pack (alongside Jack Black, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, Owen Wilson, Luke Wilson, and Steve Carrell) and starred in a series of comedies including Starsky & Hutch, Anchorman, Dodgeball, and Wedding Crashers. Vaughn still continues to star in both dramas and comedies showing off his acting skills.
